Greg Shaw is married to Samantha Shaw she is a Republican politician. She served as a State Auditor of Alabama for 8 years. She served two terms as a state auditor, her first term was from 2007 until 2010 and the second term from 2011 until 2014.
Greg and Samantha have two sons, elder one named Gregory Shaw he graduated from United States Military Academy at West Point in 2007. He has served in the Afghanistan war as a captain for the U.S. Army.
Younger son CJ Shaw is in U.S. army as well.
Education
Greg Shaw completed his education from Alabama state. He completed his undergraduate degree in 1979 from Auburn University.
In 1983 he completed his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Samford University.
Being one of the bright students he completed his J.D. by graduating in the top 10 percent of the class.
In 2004 he graduated from Virginia School of Law in a program for judges with an LL.M. in the judicial process.
Career
Greg started his career in 1982, he took admission in Alabama State Bar and at the same time was working at a law firm in St. Clair County.
A couple of year later in 1983 he started his own law firm and in 1984 he he joined the staff of Supreme Court Associate Justice Janie L. Shores in Montgomery, Alabama.
After serving Justice Janie Greg in 1985 he joined the staff of Supreme Court Associate Justice James Gorman Houston, Jr., where he served. He served Justice Houston Jr. for the next 15 years and became a senior staff attorney.
In 2000, he was elected to the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals and in 2006 he was reelected.
In 2007, he ran for the election of Chief Judge of Alabama Court against Democrat Deborah Bell Paseur. Justice Greg Shaw won the election by 50.3% of the votes which his opponent got 49.6% of the total votes. In 2014, he was re-elected unopposed.
For again re-election in 2020, he has filed the nomination and won the primaries against fellow Republic candidate Cam Ward. He won the election by gaining 58.4% of the votes while Ward received 41.6% of the votes.
